Three passengers were abducted and four others were injured in an attack by suspected armed kidnappers along the Ayere-Kabba federal road in Kogi State.

For medical attention, injured victims have been sent to St. John’s hospital in Kabba.

In a post on his X handle on Tuesday, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist specializing in the Lake Chad region, revealed this.

Citing intelligence sources, Makama said the event happened on Tuesday.

“According to police sources, the attack occurred around 3:00 p.m. when the assailants suddenly emerged from the bush and forcefully stopped two vehicles a Hummer bus and a Toyota Camry sedan.

“The gunmen then abducted three passengers whose identities have yet to be confirmed, while four others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” Makama said.

He added that “the hoodlums carried out the ambush in a coordinated manner, forcing the vehicles to a halt before whisking away the victims into the bush”.
