Other party leaders have visited Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, the party’s 2023 candidate for governor of Lagos State, in response to his resignation, at the invitation of Mr. Ude Okoye, the national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Adediran’s spokesperson, Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye, made this claim in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

The head of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, Adediran, resigned from the PDP on Monday, alleging lack of discipline and betrayal, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

PDP leaders paid Adediran a visit at his Abuja office just 48 hours after he had left the party, encouraging him to change his mind and rejoin.

According to Ogunleye, the PDP leaders begged Adediran to change his mind and revoke his departure from the party.

“The National Secretary of the PDP, Ude Okoye, former National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, and ex-House of Representatives member, Shina Peller, visited Adediran.

“They urged him to reconsider his resignation and return to the PDP,” Ogunleye said.

The delegation urged Adediran to make a comeback while acknowledging his reasons for departing.

“While appreciating their support, Adediran assured them of his willingness to collaborate with friends in his political journey, in spite of differences in political alignment,” Ogunleye stated.

According to NAN, Adediran announced on Monday that he and his supporters fled the party, taking with them his supporters from Lagos State’s 20 LGAs and 37 LCAs.

He ascribed his choice to the PDP’s incapacity to address its internal crisis in Lagos State and the treachery of party leaders.

He promised that in the upcoming months, his next political move would be made public.
