NIGERIA POLICE SHUT DOWN CHURCH OVER ALLEGED MURDER OF LASU GRADUATE
The Lagos State Police Command has closed down a church in connection with the alleged murder of Adedamola Ogunbode, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU).
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the action on Monday during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja.
Hundeyin explained that the church, where some individuals claimed Ogunbode, 28, was killed and buried, was sealed off to prevent it from being torched.
He said, “The church was sealed following intelligence reports that some people planned to burn it down out of vengeance, and we don’t want that to happen.
“It is still a suspected crime scene. We still need to go over it, and we may need to revisit the scene multiple times to gather evidence.”
Additionally, Hundeyin said that as the inquiry develops, a public update will be given.
As investigations proceed, he said, three individuals have been taken into custody.
