A major fire has burned a female students’ residence at Sokoto State University (SSU).
The affected hostel is one of the recently created buildings expected to address accommodation issues at the college.
Authorities had previously ordered residents to leave the dormitory, thus reports suggest that pupils were not there when the event occurred.
Officials at the school have not revealed the cause of the evacuation.
Although the fire has been put out, it is still too early to determine the entire extent of the damage.
