
LATE CHIEF MAGISTRATE OGUNKANMI: LAGOS JUDICIARY HOLDS VALEDICTORY COURT SESSION
The Lagos State Judiciary recently held a respectful valedictory court session to honor the late Chief Magistrate Eniola Olusanmi Ogunkanmi at the Ikeja High Court.
The session, led by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Kazeem Alogba, was attended by judiciary members, legal professionals, family, and well-wishers.
Justice Alogba praised Magistrate Ogunkanmi as a courageous and principled judicial officer whose contributions left a lasting legacy within the Lagos State Judiciary. He commended Ogunkanmi’s integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to justice throughout his career.
Magistrate Ogunkanmi, born on December 19, 1966, in Lagos, Nigeria, had a distinguished legal career, earning his LL.B from Lagos State University in 1990 and being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. He worked at Lambo & Lambo and Mark & Company before being appointed as Magistrate Grade II in 2001. Over the years, he advanced in his career, eventually becoming Chief Magistrate (Administration) and Head of the Litigation Department of the Lagos State Judiciary (Ikeja) in September 2024.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), represented by Olamide Ibrahim, praised Ogunkanmi’s principled approach and significant influence on the judiciary, highlighting his excellence both in the secular and spiritual realms.
Throughout his career, Magistrate Ogunkanmi was known for his fairness, legal expertise, and steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law.
