TRAGIC: WOMAN KILLED AS OVERHEAD WATER TANK CRASHES THROUGH CEILING IN LEKKI, LAGOS
A 30-year-old Nigerian woman, Cynthia Oguzie, tragically lost her life after an overhead water tank collapsed through the ceiling of her room, crushing her as she lay on her bed.
Reports revealed that Oguzie had only moved into the Lekki, Lagos apartment two months before the incident. A viral video showed her motionless on the bed, while another clip displayed the mangled water tank and the wreckage it caused.
Her brother, Chukwuebuka Nathaniel, who shared the incident on Facebook, blamed the landlord and engineers for poor construction and using substandard materials.
Despite the viral nature of the incident, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to confirm or respond. A flier for Oguzie’s funeral reveals the service will be held on Friday, April 25.
The heartbreaking incident has sparked outrage across social media, with many Nigerians calling for accountability from developers and stricter enforcement of building regulations.
