BREAKING: POLICE ARREST PORTABLE DURING LIVE VIDEO
Popular Nigerian street-pop artist, Portable, was arrested today, Sunday, by law enforcement officers while recording a live video. The unexpected incident has stirred reactions online as the singer appeared visibly confused during the encounter.
According to Portable, the officers told him they were acting on a petition filed in Ilorin, Kwara State. He claimed the men, who identified themselves as police officers, provided little explanation but insisted they were sent from Ilorin based on the petition they received.
“I no know wetin I do. Dem talk say dem come from Ilorin, say na petition,” Portable said during the live video before being taken away.
Although the exact content of the petition remains undisclosed, Lagos Reporters has learned that the arrest is connected to an ongoing investigation. Sources suggest that the officers followed due process under directives from their counterparts in Kwara State.
As of the time of filing this report, no official police statement has been released, and efforts to reach Portable’s management have been unsuccessful. Although there’s been no official confirmation of his arrest.
