2025 U-20 AFCON: FLYING EAGLES TOUCH DOWN IN ISMAILIA FOR QUARTER-FINAL CLASH

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles arrived in Ismailia on Thursday in preparation for their quarter-final match at the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Led by coach Aliyu Zubairu, the team secured second place in Group B after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Kenya’s Rising Stars on Wednesday.
The seven-time champions are set to face the second-placed team from Group C—which could be Ghana, DR Congo, or title holders Senegal—for a spot in the semi-finals. Group C matches are scheduled to wrap up this evening.
The quarter-final showdown is slated for next Monday at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
The four teams that reach the semi-finals will earn qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile later this year.
At the previous edition of the U-20 AFCON, the Flying Eagles finished in third place.
