
EFCC ARRESTS 17 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN KWARA

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 17 suspected internet fraudsters in coordinated sting operations carried out in Ilorin and Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The suspects were apprehended in areas including Asa Dam, Al-Hikmah University axis, and Gaa-Odota in Ilorin, as well as Ganmo and Amoyo in Ifelodun LGA.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, was based on actionable intelligence linking the individuals to cybercrime activities.
Items recovered during the arrests include three luxury vehicles, high-end mobile phones, and laptop computers.
This development follows a similar operation last week where 47 suspects were arrested in Ilorin and Ifelodun over alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
