POLICE DISLODGE KIDNAPPING DEN, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE IN YOBE

In Buniyadi, the state’s Gujba Local Government Area headquarters, the Yobe State Police Command, working with vigilantes, has successfully freed two kidnapped victims, dismantled a kidnapping den, and retrieved an AK-47 gun.

Dungus Abulkarim, the command spokesman, said the success happened after an eyewitness in Buni Yadi called for help. The police responded by locating the criminal elements’ den and, with the help of the locals, raided the area following a gunfight.

Abulkarim went on to say that the perpetrators fled with injuries, leaving behind an AK-47 rifle and two magazines that had twenty-five rounds of ammunition.

He clarified in a press release that while the victims were rescued unharmed and brought to the hospital for medical examinations, efforts are being stepped up to capture the escaping offenders for potential prosecution.
