Adekunle Gold takes fans on a reflective journey in ‘Ire’
Adekunle Gold’s new song is both inspirational and reflective, but those attributes are not what catches the eye the most about it.
Titled ‘Ire'(goodness), the new single shows a new depth in the singer’s subject matter and reminds listeners of how much original and unique he is.
On the opening lines of the song, Gold immediately captures his audience with, “the grass is greener on the other side/ That’s what I thought before I took the ride/ I burned my bridges so I’d never look back”.
He goes on to sing about how “goodness” is beckoning on him to return home — to his roots.
The video, largely shot in reverse motion by Aje Filmworks, is beautiful, picturesque and rich in culture.
