IGHALO: I WANT TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY WITH A GOAL AGAINST CROATIA
Nigerian international striker Odion Ighalo has set his sights on
scoring against Croatia when both sides clash at the 2018 FIFA World
Cup in Russia.
The Yatai Changchun striker in the Chinese Super League will be
celebrating his birthday on the same day.
Ighalo will be turning 29 on June 16 and reveals that he wants a
special gift in a form of a goal.
The match comes up on June 16, in Kransdor and the Yatai striker has
assured his fans he will not disappoint them if selected to face the
Europeans.
“I will be glad celebrating my birthday with a victory against
Croatia. It’s obvious that day will be my day and I won’t disappoint
my fans who are party ready. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see
how it goes” he said to the New Telegraph.
The former Watford player hasn’t played at the global showpiece before
and he is optimistic he can score loads of goals in Russia if coach
Gernot Rohr considers him in his team.
Meanwhile, Ighalo was part of the team that grabbed a point in their
CSL opener against Shanghai Shenhua last weekend, they played to a 1-1
draw.
