FG tasked on Education roadmap for children with disabilities
The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) has urged the Federal Government to launch and implement a legal policy framework on inclusive education that would alleviate the plights of out-of-school children with disabilities.
National President of JONAPWD Ms. Ekaete Umoh made the plea in Abuja during the launch of the inclusive basic education project for children with disabilities and official presentation of baseline survey report conducted in FCT, Akwa Ibom and Kwara states factsheets, policy briefs and the ‘MAISE’ poster.
The Model for an Accessible and Inclusive School Environment (MAISE) represents a prototype of an international educational environment for children with disabilities and was supported by the USAID through its Strengthening Advocacy and Citizens Engagement (SACE) Programme in Nigeria.
