PROTESTERS ASK SARAKI TO RESIGN AS SENATE PRESIDENT
Some protesters have besieged the premises of the National Assembly in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Protesters are complaining about the changes the lawmakers made the country’s 2018 Budget.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in his budget signing speech complained about the decision of the lawmakers 6.403 projects into the budget amounting to 578 billion naira.
He also accused the lawmakers of cutting off 4,700 key projects from the budget proposal he submitted to them.The cuts according to Buhari amount to 347 billion naira.The protesters under a coalition of Civil Society groups have blocked the entrance of the gate to the National Assembly creating heavy traffic gridlock.
