Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said he is delighted Nigeria international
Alex Iwobi has inked a new long-term contract with Premier League side
Arsenal.
Although the financial terms and duration of the contract were not
revealed, it is public knowledge that Iwobi is now tied to the Gunners
until June 30, 2023 and will take home 70,000 pounds every week.
”I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us,” Emery told
arsenal.com.
”He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy
through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other
talented young players in the squad.”
A product of Arsenal’s famous Hale End Academy, Iwobi is two games
away from reaching the 100-game milestone for the North London club.
The 22-year-old has notched 6 goals in 20 appearances for the Nigeria
National Team and represented the country at the 2018 World Cup in
Russia
