TINUBU INSISTS ON HIS POSITION AGAINST AMBODE’S 2ND TERM
Joseph Omoniyi
National Leader of The All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said last night that his position on the candidates battling for the party’s governorship ticket remains.
Tinubu who made this known at a meeting held at the residence of the President, Muhammadu Buhari, where issues including the ongoing primaries of the APC were discussed, said, there was no going back on his decision to back out of the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode’s second-term ambition.
According to reports, the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was, however, not part of the meeting Buhari had with Tinubu.
“The president had to call for the meeting after Ambode’s press conference on Sunday. As leader of the party, he is worried about a possible implosion of the APC in Lagos and he was quite disturbed by some of Ambode’s allegations during his press conference”, the source revealed.
The party leader had accused Ambode of deviating from the development blueprint prepared for the state.
