AFRIONE TO START EXPORTATION OF ITS GADGETS TO OTHER AFRICAN MARKETS

AfriOne’s Director of Strategy and Government Relations, Lekan Akinjide has announced their intention to begin the exportation of its mobile devices and laptops to other African countries.
Akinjide made this statement when the Director-General, National Information Technology Developmental Agency (NITDA), Isa Ibrahim Pantami paid a supervision visit to AfriOne’s headquarters in Lagos on Friday.
Akinjide said “AfriOne has started making plans on exportation to other countries. We targeted Benin Republic. We have a good relationship with their ministry of trade and industry.
“We have targeted the Benin Republic, we have a good relationship with their ministry of trade and industry. “We are looking at setting up a second production company in Botswana like the one we have here in Lagos.”
He explain that the target of the company is to sell gadgets to consumers at a cheaper rates across the country, and also to make their products available on installment to consumers with the collaborations of microfinance banks and other companies that deals with phones.
In view of this, he said: “We’ve teamed up with institutions and microfinance banks to get gadgets for their employees and customers as low as N2,000 per month with an underline guarantee from the employers or the micro-finance bank. “That is why we are manufacturing devices to suit everybody’s need.”
Meanwhile, Director-General of NITDA commended AfriOne for its innovation and contribution to technology development in Nigeria.“ I commend you for all that you are doing and I want to use this opportunity to thank you for investing in Nigeria,” Patanmi said.
