CAFCL: Lobi Stars Walk Tight Rope, Fall To Defeat Vs Gor Mahia
Lobi Stars fell to a 3-1 defeat against Kenyan champions, Gor Mahia in the first leg of their CAF Champions League, first round fixture at the Kasarani International Stadium, Nairobi on Sunday.
The hosts took the lead in the seventh minute through Jacques Tuyisenge who riffled the ball home from outside the box.
Lobi Stars struggled to cope with the pace of the game and went further behind in the 21st minute when Samuel Onyango netted the second goal for the home team.
Samad Kadiri reduced the deficit for Lobi Stars in the 29th minute nodding home from a corner kick.
Gor Mahia put mor pressure on the Lobi Stars defence afterwards with Onyango netting his second of the game in the 33rd minute.
Both teams were unable to get a goal after the break as they wasted several goal attempts.
The reverse fixture will come up next Sunday with the overall winner proceeding to the group stage of the competition.
