INADEQUATE AMMUNITION: NIGERIAN ARMY DENIES THE AUTHENTICITY OF VIRAL VIDEO
The Nigerian Army has debunked the authenticity of a viral video circulating on social media, which shows some soldiers leaving their camps, complaining of lack of adequate and quality ammunitions.
In a video shared by Reno Omokri on twitter, a group of Nigerian soldiers were seeing leaving their stations. The soldier who made the video said they were heading home to celebrate the New Year with them as they cannot continue to risk their lives.
Reacting to the video, the Nigerian Army says the video is not a reflect of the true state of soldiers prosecuting the war against Boko Haram. Read the statement below
“The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an old video clip circulating on the social media in which a supposedly soldier clad with an AK-47 rifle alleging lack of arms and ammunition, among other soldiers in a remote location walking. This is not true, as the video was recorded in 2014 and therefore cannot be a true reflection of the present reality. The public are please requested to discontenance the video clip.”
