LIONEL MESSI

The 31-year-old was on hand to score his sixth brace of the season in the Catalan club’s 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday.

Coolly stroked home from the penalty spot and added a more impressive second goal to take his tally in La Liga for the season to 21. That means Messi has scored 20+ league goals in 11 straight seasons.

Messi has now scored in his past nine matches across all competitions for Barca, he is now just one goalscoring match away from his best personal run, which came in 2013 when he scored in 10 consecutive games.

CRISTIANO RONALDO

After a heavy defeat in Coppa Italia on Wednesday, Ronaldo

saved Juventus from losing two consecutive games on Saturday.

The 33-year-old took his dominance in the Serie A to another level when he played a role on all three of Juventus’ goals during the side’s 3-3 draw with Parma on Saturday.

Ronaldo’s 34th birthday is just one day away, but the Portuguese has been in imperious form this season, and it appears he will not be slowing down anytime soon.

SERGIO AGUERO

Although Aguero’s goal failed to lift Man City beat Newcastle on Tuesday, he scored a hat-trick to lead his club a 3-1 win over Arsenal last night.

His hat-trick was his 10th in the Premier League, one short of Alan Shearer’s 11, the highest in the league’s history.
