GOV. ABDULLAHI SULE CALLS FOR INCREASED SECURITY IN NASARAWA STATE
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule called for more efforts to stop the killing of innocent Nigerians on Friday, describing recent security lapses in Kokona Local Government Area and other areas of the state as alarming.
During a meeting with security chiefs at the Palace of the state’s Paramount Ruler of Kokona Local Government, Abaga Toni, in Garaku, the Governor stated that the current increase in insecurity in some areas of the state cannot worsen to the point where residents flee in fear.
Governor Sule asserts that criminal activity has no place in the state and calls for improved cooperation between law enforcement and civil authorities in order to combat criminal elements and halt their evil deeds.
“My government will keep being proactive and supporting security operations in the state, but what the state’s security agencies need to do is go after the crooks,” he said. Sule proclaimed, “Nassarawa State is not for criminals.
In a press release issued by his press secretary, Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule pledged to build the Gurku-Dari and Angwan Takwa-Moroa-Ninkoro roads in the region to facilitate trade and offer a tranquil atmosphere for the populace.
The traditional ruler of Kokona, Abaga Toni, Lawrence Ayih, responded by thanking Governor Sule for acting swiftly in response to the community’s needs and for taking preventative security measures to safeguard lives and property.
Representatives of the 177 Guards brigade, the NSCDC, the DSS, the police, and Kokona Local Government Council Chairman Awwalu Adamu were among those present at the meeting.
