Dr Kolawole Ogundipe, Chief Medical Director of the Afe Babalola University Multi-System Hospital in Ado Ekiti, has stated that the hospital’s accreditation by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria to train resident doctors will improve quality medical service and education. Ogundipe praised the hospital’s founder, Aare Afe Babalola, for “his vision, peerless and selfless services to medicare and medical education in the country,” calling it a “dream come true” and a “worthy development.” The CMD stated this in a statement issued by Tunde Olofintila, ABUAD’s Corporate Affairs Director, headed “Postgraduate medical college accredits ABUAD MSH to train resident doctors,” and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti. “With this accreditation to train resident doctors, ABUAD MSH will be able to do even more to improve the country’s healthcare and medical education.” “I congratulate everyone who has contributed to this,” Ogundipe stated. At its 125th meeting on December 2, 2021, the college decided to grant the four-year-old hospital full accreditation to begin teaching resident doctors on October 5, 2021, according to the announcement.
