Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State has urged #ENDSARS protesters to be moderate in their agitation as the disruption to free flow of traffic has caused loss of lives due to medical services not reaching needy people immediately as needed.

He made the appeal Thursday evening while speaking to citizens of the state from the State House, Marina.

Sanwoolu also pleaded to the protesters to reconsider their large gathering as this could cause the state to see a second wave of cases of COVID19 in the state.

He noted that the state has seen a rise in the number of COVID19 cases in the past one week.

“If some of the protesters are asymptomatic but what of their parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts that could be infected with COVID19”

On the issue of police reforms, he noted that some of the requests of the protesters have been met but that other issues such as improved welfare are budgetary which cannot be implemented immediately by the Federal Government.

He urged the ‘leaders’ (youths) to be conscious that leadership entails accommodating the needs of others. He urged them to move on and monitor the implementation of all the requests being made.

“Their demands have been very clear, it has been heard not only in the state, not only in Nigeria but all over the world”.

“Let us go back to status quo, things will get better and things were getting better”.

Olajide Mayowa, the driver of BRT bus that was allegedly used by thugs to attack #ENDSARS PROTESTERS also gave his own account of events.

He noted that the bus stopped along the Secretariat Bus-Stop, Alausa, Ikeja en-route Oshodi from Berger, when they saw protesters.

“The thugs came at us and passengers of the bus urged me to open the door of the bus, they all ran out and I ran away too.

“After about five minutes after normalcy had returned, I went back to the bus, other passengers joined and we continued our journey.”
