Instead, in the first round of both the African Champions League and the African Confederation Cup, their two-legged ties will be combined into a single match played at the opponent’s home.

“After carefully considering the political and security situation in Guinea, the CAF Interclub Committee has decided that all three preliminary stage matchups involving clubs from Guinea would be played in a single leg at the opponent’s territory,” said a statement.

Foreign nations have condemned Sunday’s military coup, with West African leaders threatening sanctions over Conde’s ouster. Conde was in his third term after winning election in 2010.

The coup forced the cancellation of Guinea’s World Cup qualifier against Morocco on Monday. After talks between diplomats and troops, who had ordered the land and air borders closed, Morocco’s squad was flown out of Conakry on the night of the coup.

Top Guinea players based in Europe, including Liverpool’s Naby Keita, left the nation aboard a plane chartered by their clubs on Tuesday.
