COVID19: UNILAG SHUTS DOWN STAFF CLUB AND WORSHIP CENTRES

Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have ordered an immediate shut down of the University’s staff club to prevent the spread of COVID19 in the University community.

In a directive dated January 7th and signed by Registrar, Oladejo Azeez; he stated that the directive was given by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

Also, worshippers were turned back at the Unilag Mosque on Friday as they converged for the weekly jumat prayers.

Anonymous sources said the decision was as a result of the need to curb the spread of COVID19.

There are indications that churches on the campus will also take a similar stance ahead of their weekly Sunday services.

The UNILAG community had in the past one week reportedly lost two Professors to COVID19.
