O. The Cross River State Government, has placed a ban on public procession and gathering in the State. The statement, was signed and made accessible by The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Governor, Christian Ita. This development is due to the prevailing security situation in the country. It was reported that government, will not permit any procession or gathering under any guise on June 12, which is designated as Democracy Day. Government urges anyone or group of persons wishing to mark the June 12 Democracy Day to do so quietly within the confines of their homes. Parents and Guardians are also, advised to keep a firm grip of their children and wards in other to, prevent them from falling prey to agents of destabilisation. Government warns that it will not allow anyone or group breach the peace that is been enjoyed in the state. Therefore, anyone found will have to face the full weight of the law brought upon violators of the ban. However, the State Government under Professor Ayade, wishes to assures all citizens that it will continue to protect lives and properties of citizens in the state.
