The government added that its ban on social and religious gatherings still remains. The Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee on COVID-19, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, made this known at the end of the committee’s meeting in Akure, Ondo state capital. While noting that there was a need for people to support government in the fight against COVID-19, he enjoined Muslims to celebrate Eid with their family members and in their homes. Fatusi also urged them to use the occasion to pray for the Nigeria and Ondo State in particular. “Nigeria and Ondo State need prayer at this particular time for God’s intervention in the battle against COVID-19. “It is necessary every individual at all levels adhere to all precautionary measures against COVID-19 in order to make the society safe,” he said. According to him, members of the Inter-ministerial Task Force and security operatives at all levels would be deployed across the state to ensure compliance with the directive of the government.
