Richard Mofe Damijo, Mo Abudu, Peace Anyiam Osigwe, Tunde Kelani, Kunle Afolayan, and four others were named to the Governor’s Committee on Film Production Empowerment to support youth creativity and entertainment activities in the state. According to the Governor, the intervention project would kick-start the transformation of the entertainment and tourism industries. The aim of the program is to help the innovative ideas of film and television producers who are unable to realize their visions due to a lack of funding. The Nation learned that applicants would be provided with funding depending on the financial plans of their projects, which is how filmmakers will benefit from the initiative. It was also mentioned that filmmakers who apply for funding could receive grants worth up to N40 million per recipient. The committee, according to Sanwo-Olu, has been granted the authority to disburse the help grants to movie producers with new ideas and unfinished stories. will make the final decision on which projects will be funded. “We don’t have any reason not to succeed in this assignment,” RMD said, describing the committee’s appointment as a great honor. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that the Governor’s vision becomes a reality,” he said.
