This is a rematch of Adesanya’s split decision victory in 2018, which was one of the toughest fights of his career. Adesanya (20-1) is attempting to defend his middleweight belt for the third time.

At 185 pounds, the Nigerian-born New Zealander is unbeaten and has held a share of the championship in the UFC since April 2019. On March 6, he lost a UFC light heavyweight title battle to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259 in Las Vegas.

Vettori (17-4-1) is the division’s hottest fighter, having won five of his last six fights. In 2018, Vettori pushed Adesanya to the limit, a bout he thinks he won. Since then, the 27-year-old boxer has gone undefeated, most recently defeating Kevin Holland by unanimous decision in April.
