Jigawa Golden Stars, Enyimba share points in barren draw in Kaduna

3 min read

Jigawa Golden Stars forced former League Champions, Enyimba to a barren draw in one of the NPFL Matchday 13 games decided at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

It was a thrilling game between the two sides as Jigawa Golden Stars did everything possible to nail Enyimba but couldn’t make most of their chances as the game failed to produce a goal.
Enyimba dominated the early part of the proceedings and put Jigawa on the back foot but couldn’t carve a hole out of the rock solid Jigawa defense.

What could have been the opener for the visitors was thwarted by Bilal who produced a smart block to keep out Omoyele from firing home a low effort on eight minutes.

Jigawa Golden Stars’ Bilal Yakub was a forced substitute on 26th minute due to injury. He was replaced by former Gombe United defender Halilu Obadaki

15 minutes before half time, Ali Musa connected well to a long ball forward and tried a long range effort but Enyimba goalie was on hand to stop the danger.

As the game progressed, the hosts began to grow in confidence and found their feet in the game. They created another golden opportunity but Andrew Idoko could not make it count as his close range effort went just wide off the far post.

The hosts continued their dominance in the second half as Ali Musa created space for himself but failed to wreck the ship of Enyimba at the edge of the box with Omoyele blocking his low effort.
Both coaches introduced some fresh legs to fortify and hard energy to their teams but the changes could not make any difference.

Both teams knocked and poked but could not find the back of the net as the game ended nil all.
