Martin Schoot, Eriksen’s agent, said, “I just spoke to Christian’s father, and he told me that he is breathing and able to communicate.”

The Danish federation tweeted, “Christian Eriksen is awake and is undergoing further examinations at Rigs Hospitalet.”

Fans stayed in the stadium, chanting “Christian” and “Eriksen,” as UEFA declared the match would be continued later tonight.

The players returned to the field to a standing ovation as they began warming up for the second time. Mathias Jensen took Eriksen’s spot in the Denmark starting lineup. Only a few minutes were played before the halftime break, which was shorter than usual.

After falling at the conclusion of the first half, Eriksen received immediate medical assistance on the field for around ten minutes. After then, he was brought away on a stretcher. The match was subsequently called off “due to a medical emergency,” according to UEFA.

In a statement, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin stated, “Moments like these put everything in life into perspective.” “I wish Christian a complete and swift recovery, and I pray for strength and faith for his family.

“At these times, the unity of the football family is so strong and he and his family carry with them the good wishes and prayers of everyone. I heard of fans of both teams chanting his name. Football is beautiful and Christian plays it beautifully.”
