The Ogun State Government has issued a nationwide movement restriction on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow for the conduct of local government elections.

Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said the restriction was imposed at the request of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), which is conducting councilor and chairmanship elections in all 236 wards across the state’s 20 local government areas.

During the duration of the restriction, however, voters will be free to go to their local polling centers and vote for the candidates of their choice.

The statement advised the electorate to be peaceful and avoid any action that would ruin Ogun State’s hard-won reputation as one of the country’s most peaceful states.
