Peter Godwin, a former pastor of the Living Faith Church International, also known as Winners Chapel, claims he was fired by the church for failing to generate enough revenue in his branch.

In a popular video seen by SaharaReporters, Godwin stated that he got employed on August 28, 2020.

He stated that on July 1, 2021, the state pastor invited him and roughly forty of his colleagues to a retreat, and that they were all fired due to low income in their branches.

Godwin, on the other hand, omitted to mention the state’s name.

“Actually, by the special grace of God, our father in this great assembly, Living Faith Church, received a mandate from the Lord to plant 10,000 churches in Nigeria, and by the special grace of God, I was privileged to be one of the pastors that were employed on August 28, 2020, which was last year,” he said.

As a result, I began working and dedicating myself to the Lord’s cause. I did everything I could to ensure that I won souls for Christ, but on July 1st, I received a call saying that the state pastor wanted to see me, so I assumed I was the only one. I was taken aback and went to his office.

We received a letter a few minutes later. I opened the envelope to see what was inside and discovered that it was a bag letter.

‘Consequent upon the recent performance review, which demonstrated that your church growth index falls below expectation,’ the letter reads. Please be advised that, effective immediately, your service as the pastor in charge is no longer required in this commission. Before leaving, you must quit your official lodging and hand over all of your belongings, including your official ID card, to the area pastor.

“So the next day, I called management to find out what had happened because I hadn’t been involved in any questionable or wicked activities. I was told by management that the church does not operate at a loss, and that the entire income earned from my station should be enough to cover my welfare and housing, thus I am hereby terminated because of my poor income.”
