The tournament also served as the debut of Aruna Sports Club and Academy, which was founded by the table tennis player.

Adebakin, 12, won the cadet boys after defeating Joseph Emmanuel, while Akanbi won the cadet girls title after defeating Faisat Misbau.

The winners received N50,000 each, while the losing finalists received N25,000. Third-place finishers received N15,000 in cash, while quarter-final losers received N10,000. For group losers, there were also cash prizes of N35,000 each.

Exhibition games by non-professionals, such as comedian Ayo Makun and musician Tiimi Dakolo, were among the day’s other highlights.

Enitan Oshodi, Vice President of the African Table Tennis Federation, was one of the attendees.
