UPDATE: NIGERIAN AIR FORCE PLANE CRASHES IN ABUJA KILLING ALL SEVEN CREW MEMBERS ON BOARD

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna, Niger State on Sunday afternoon.

In a press statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF Headquarters, Air Vice-Marshal Ibikunle Daramola; he stated that all seven personnel on board died in the crash.

The release stated that the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice-Marshal I.O. Amao, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. While urging the general public to remain calm and await the outcome of investigation, Amao, on behalf of all NAF personnel, commiserated with the families of the deceased.

The Nigerian Air Force is yet to release an official imprest of its personnel on board the aircraft.
