USMAN ALKALI BABA DECLARES NIGERIA POLICE MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT POLICY

The new Nigeria Police Manpower Development Policy was released today, Monday, July 26th, 2021, by Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc.

The declaration was made by the IGP at the Force Headquarters in Abuja during the decoration of twenty-four (24) newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs). The AIGs’ decoration is the first step in a process that would see the Police Service Commission honor a total of 167 Senior Police Officers who were recently accepted by the Police Service Commission after the IGP recommended them.

The Force’s Manpower Development Policy, according to the IGP, is a deliberate protocol for identifying, elevating, and positioning professionally competent officers who will act as Strategic Police Managers, driving the new policing vision and putting strategies in place to respond to current and emerging security threats in the country.

In order to improve police service delivery, the Policy also focuses human capacity development and officer welfare.

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, the IGP challenged them to use their vast knowledge to help him achieve his leadership goal of positively transforming the country’s policing and internal security narratives.

He also advised the cops to keep their new rank’s schedules within the confines of the law and the public’ policing expectations.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammed Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Musa Bello, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR, mni, NPOM, Members of the Force Management Team, Traditional Leaders were among those present at the ceremony.
