VAR: PREMIER LEAGUE TO EMPLOY THICKER LINES FOR OFFSIDE CALLS NEXT SEASON

Clubs agreed after a presentation by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) referees’ chief Mike Riley to clubs at their annual general meeting on Thursday, to utilize thicker lines, as initially reported in.

Following input from Premier League clubs in a VAR survey last season, the PGMOL expects that the alteration will favor the attacking team. It’s unclear whether VARs will employ larger lines for offside in FA Cup matches next season.
