CLERIC SAYS THE ACT OF KISSING YOUR BRIDE DURING CHURCH WEDDING IS A SIN

Read Time:1 Minute, 3 Second

The Bishop of Niger Delta West Diocese, Rt Rev. (Dr) Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, in a sermon during the child presentation thanksgiving service at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Biogbolo in Yenagoe, Bayelsa State on Sunday condemned the act of kissing ones bride at the alter during matrimonial service and therefore pronounced it as a sin.

Oko-Jaja said that permitting couples to go through the process of kissing in the church during their wedding service is unscriptural, it promotes immorality and corrupt the mind of teenagers that are in the premises to witness the matrimonial service, therefore, such act should be discouraged.

He admonished all true believers to resentfully guard against the pranks of fake gospel preachers as the practice of letting groom to kiss the bride in the presence of both young and old persons sprang from the teachings of false prophets.

“The practice where couples are allowed to kiss in the church during wedding service is unscriptural. I wish to direct clergymen and church workers in this Diocese to guard against such unholy conducts.

“According to the scriptures, the church is not supposed to serve as a place meant to promote immorality but encourage people to uphold and practice Christian virtues with a view to winning souls for Christ.”
