Barcelona director sacked because of Lionel Messi
A BARCELONA director has been kicked out of the club after he launched a surprise attack on Lionel Messi.
Catalan official Pere Gratacos outrageously claimed the five-time Ballon dāOr winner would not be as good without his teammates.
His comment was made whilst Messi continues play hard ball over a new contract with theĀ La Liga giants.
Speaking after the Copa del Rey quarter-finals draw, Barca bigwig Gratacos said: āWithout [Andres] Iniesta, Neymar, [Gerard] Pique and the rest, Messi would not be as good a player.ā
The is not the first time the director has devalued Messiās talent within Luis Enriqueās side.
In 2010, when asked how good the Argentine could become, he replied: āIn Africa, there are plenty of players with his ability.ā
The Catalan hierarchy have been very vocal as the club continue to negotiate with Messi and CEO, Oscar Grau, said the club will not break the bank to keep hold of their main man.
