Odion Ighalo completed a move to Chinese Super League side Changchun
WATFORD striker Odion Ighalo has completed his £20million move to Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai.
The moneybags Far East club have been chasing the Nigerian striker for weeks and finally landed their man.
The Hornets confirmed their club-record sale on Tuesday an hour before their clash with Arsenal.
A statement on their website read: “The Hornets can confirm that Odion Ighalo has agreed a permanent move to Changchun Yatai.
“All at Watford FC thank Odion for his contributions to the club, and wish him the best of luck for his future career.”
The 27-year-old made an impressive start to life in the top-flight last season as his goals helped them to retain their Premier League status.
Watford also reached the FA Cup semi-finals.
However, the goals have dried up this campaign and he has only found the net twice for Walter Mazzarri’s men.
He bagged a total of 39 goals in 100 appearances during his time at Vicarage Road after initially joining on loan from Granada in July 2014.
Watford were happy to cash in on their hitman having already secured his replacement.
They brought in Mauro Zarate from Fiorentina on a permanent deal and M’Baye Niang on loan from AC Milan last week to help bolster their attack.
