Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is disappointed but still proud after watching his team go down to a 3-1 Premier League defeat against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners dominated possession in the game and were frustrated by top class goalkeeping from David De Gea who produced a number of incredible saves in the highly entertaining clash.
“Look, I’m angry and disappointed because when you produce that quality and have nothing to show for it it’s difficult to accept,” the Frenchman said during his post-match interaction with the media.
“Sometimes in defeat you have no positives but today we have some positives but I think we put ourselves in a difficult situation early on.
“We had not enough dictating our strength in fight from the start and then despite that we had 33 shots on goal against Man Utd and their goalkeeper was absolutely outstanding.
“I don’t want to speak about the referees anymore. It looked like but he has to decide, I hope when we go to Old Trafford he’d be the same.
“I’m proud of their attitude and I feel sorry for the players to have given so much and not have any points at the end.”
The North London outfit now sit in fifth position in the table.
