FIFA presents badges to 29 Nigerian refs
FIFA has presented badges to 29 NigerianĀ referees.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Referees Association, Kelechi Mejuobi, theyĀ are 22 menĀ and seven womenĀ referees.
He said the menĀ referees consist of 14 centreĀ referees and assistant referees, four futsal referees and four beach soccer referees.
He said the seven women are all football referees and assistant referees.
āFrom the 2017 approved referees, Abubakar Ago ā from male football ā Hadiza Musa ā from female football ā and Ushie Micheal ā from beach soccer ā all retired and have been replaced by three young referees ā Abubarka Abdulahi (menāsĀ football), Patience Madu (womenās football) and Olayinka Olajide (beach soccer),ā he said.
āThe referees received their FIFA badges from the Nigeria Football Federation officials in Kano and are available to officiate in any continental game ā as well as domestic matches.ā
