Medical personnel at the Molai General Hospital have confirmed that Boko Haram militants, who attacked Molai on Christmas day, carted away two Land Cruiser jeep belonging to the leprosy hospital.
The medical officers, who were still shock by the horror of the fateful day, told our correspondent that they were saved by grace.
Speaking to DAILY POST on Thursday, on condition of anonymity, the medical officers also confirmed that the insurgents burnt three people to death.
Narrating their ordeal, they recalled hearing gunshots but thought it was a normal routine from the military until a soldier came running to seek refuge in their quarters.
According to them, they were in the building listening to the insurgents shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ and shooting sporadically.
“A lady with machine gun was giving orders to some of the boys. She came around the house telling the boys not to harm civilians”, one of personnel said.
“We were all praying in the house until they began to retreat when security operatives arrived.
“One of the vehicle they took was given to us not too long, a brand new Land Cruiser; the other one was the one we have been using.”
