the nigerian national petroleum company limited (nnpcl) has increased the pump price of premium motor spirit following a rise in the gantry price by the dangote refinery.
a market survey by daily post on thursday showed that nnpcl retail stations in abuja and surrounding areas adjusted their petrol price to n1,364 per litre, up from n1,295. this represents an increase of n69 per litre.
an attendant at one of the stations confirmed the adjustment, saying, “we adjusted our pump price to n1364 per litre from n1295 this morning.”
other filling stations in the federal capital territory, including mrs, bovas, and others, have also reviewed their prices upwards, now selling petrol between n1,365 and n1,370 per litre.
this development comes shortly after the dangote refinery increased its gantry price by n75, raising it from n1,200 to n1,275 per litre. the refinery attributed the adjustment to a rise in crude oil prices, which reportedly climbed above $115 per barrel.
