According to him, modern and properly maintained facilities are essential for advancing academic excellence, encouraging inclusive learning, and meeting global standards in higher education.

Falaiye noted that dwindling government funding and growing infrastructural needs have made private partnerships and philanthropic support increasingly necessary for sustainable educational development.

He praised donor Marvelous Akinola, whose endowment financed the project, as well as Prof. Aaron Akinloye of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education for facilitating the initiative.

Falaiye said the project demonstrates the impact of effective partnerships, adding that the intervention would significantly improve teaching, research, and students’ learning experiences.

He further reaffirmed the university management’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure projects across the campus while urging staff and students to ensure proper use and maintenance of the facilities.

Also speaking, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Simeon Oladipo, described the intervention as both timely and impactful.

He said the upgraded facilities represent not only a physical transformation but also a strategic investment in students’ future, noting that they would strengthen health education delivery, encourage innovative teaching methods, and improve practical learning.

Oladipo stressed that the quality of learning infrastructure directly influences the competence and performance of future professionals.

He added that the improved facilities would better equip both staff and students to attain higher academic standards and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The dean also highlighted the importance of alumni and private donor contributions in addressing funding challenges facing Nigerian universities.

According to him, alumni-driven support remains crucial for expanding infrastructure, building partnerships, and ensuring long-term institutional development.

The university stated that the project reflects the increasing role of philanthropy in enhancing learning outcomes and boosting the global competitiveness of Nigerian universities.

It added that the initiative further demonstrates how private support can transform infrastructure and enrich the academic environment.
