Conte Pleased With Chelsea Win Over Stoke, Focuses On Arsenal Clash
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte feels it was important his team got the three Premier League points against Stoke City to maintain their impressive run as he prepares to face Arsenal on Wednesday.
Despite resting Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas with N’Golo Kante coming from the bench, Chelsea still thrashed Stoke 5-0 in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Goals from Antonio Ruediger, Willian, Pedro Rodriguez, Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater, secured Chelsea their fifth straight league win.
“Today we were very good, we started very well and to score twice after 15 minutes, another clean sheet, there are a lot of positives after this game,” Conte said in his post-match press conference .
“But at the same time we know we must continue to work and improve, and prepare for a very difficult game against Arsenal.
“Every win is important for us. Today it was important to get three points to continue our positive run.”
