FA Cup: Iheancho grabs double, Ndidi scores in Leicester win

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

Kelechi Iheanacho scored his third and fourth goals of the season as Leicester City overcame the absence of Jamie Vardy to romp to a 5-1 away win over Peterborough United in Saturday’s FA Cup game.
Vardy was an unused substitute as Claude Puel’s men strolled past the English League One side at ABAX Stadium.
The former Manchester City forward got his first goal of the afternoon after firing a fine left-footed strike into the bottom-left corner three minutes after Fousseni Diabate’s opener.
He completed his double in the 29th minute by navigating in a volley from Christian Fuchs’ sensational left-wing cross.
Diabate, who arrived at the King Power Stadium from French Ligue 2 club Gazelec Ajaccio earlier this month, scored his second and Leicester’s fourth in the 87th minute before Wilfred Ndidi made it 5-1 in stoppage-time.
It was Ndidi’s first goal of the season, rendering Andrew Hughes’ 58th-minute effort for Peterborough a mere consolation.
But for debutant Diabate’s star showing, Nigeria international Iheanacho would have taken the headlines.
“It’s a lovely competition to play in. It was a good team performance,” Iheanacho told BT Sport. “I have been waiting for an opportunity to take my chance and this was it.”
Meanwhile Liverpool will look to reach the last 16 at the expense of West Bromwich Albion in an all-Premier League clash at Anfield with Southampton and Watford meeting at St Mary’s.
