I’m thinking about running for political office – Oby Ezekwesili
A former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has admitted that she is thinking of running for political office in the future.
Ezekwesili, who has co-founded the Red Card Movement, stated this while answering questions on Channels Television’s programme, Hard Copy.
“Good governance is the greatest obstacle to the development of many nations,” she said.
When asked if it’s going to have an effect on the Bring Back our Girls (BBOG) movement which is an apolitical movement, Ezekwesili insisted that she has not lost her political rights.
She noted: “I am not the only person in Bring Back our Girls. Consistently, what we’ve done with Bring Back our Girls, has been to engage the government in power on constitutional mandate.
“I don’t understand why you sort of think that by standing out there and crying for the rescue of girls we lost our political rights. Is that what you are suggesting?”
When asked pointedly if she is going to run for political office. especially with the launch of her new movement , Ezekwesili replied: “I am thinking about it.”
