Read Time:50 Second
The Ogun State chapter of Labour Party has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, to do everything within its power to rescue the over 100 school girls of Dapchi School, Yobe State, abducted by Boko Haram insurgent group.
The party, made the call through its state chairman, Biodun Owolabi, at its 2nd Executive Meeting, held at the party secretariat, Adatan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The party, which condemned and described the school girls abduction as a national tragedy, called for joint ‘Save Our School’ initiative by the government and security agencies, in order to keep Nigerian schools, particularly in the North East part of the country.
Speaking further on the  state police, the LP state chairman, said while clamouring for the state police was not a bad idea, the possibility of respective state governors hijacking it for their selfish interest should be a great concern.
He, noted that just like State Electoral Commissions (SIECs), state police will be at the whims and caprices of state governors
