NWAKAEME BAGS DOUBLE AS HAPOEL BE’ER SHEVA THRASH MACCABI NETANYA 5-1
Hapoel Be’er Sheva were too much to handle for Maccabi Netanya in an
Israeli league game as they smashed five goal past the home side to
pick up a 5-1 win on Sunday.
Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme who last scored in February scored a
brace with the first coming from the spot in the 62nd minute before
his second goal two minutes later to put his team 4-1 up. Ben Sahar
scored his second of the game with fifteen minutes left to complete
the rout .
Nwakaeme last scored in Be’er Sheva 3-0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva
on the 17th of February, and his brace in today’s game took his tally
for the season to nine goals . A far cry from his last season tally of
14 although he has played 8 games less.
The power playing forward was voted the best player in the Israeli
league last season and that earned him a call up to the senior
national team of Nigeria, but he was snubbed by coach Gernot Rohr in
their last round of friendly games against Poland and Serbia
respectively.
